Paypal (a credit payment company) offer a secure system for transactions over the internet. This
security is intended to offer peace of mind for the Card Holder and the Site
Owner (us) by allowing real time authorisation of Credit Cards through Bank
Authorisation systems.
The system is hosted on a secure web site with SSL (Secure Socket Layer)
capability to allow encrypted communication with the customers browser. Credit
card entry takes place on Paypal secure server rather than on the server of the
merchant, on a system that meets Bank standards for security of data. The
authorisation process is carried out by Paypal, and upon receiving
either an authorisation or a decline this information is passed back to the
Paypal server so that the appropriate message can be displayed. At no time do
the merchants, ie sharediscount.co.uk receive a credit card number.
